We have reviewed the guidelines from the government, sporting bodies and discussed them as a team. We have decided upon the following policy regarding our services.
I appreciate aspects of this may be frustrating for some, but I remind you we are first and foremost a horse dealing business and this is our primary income stream. Therefore, safely restarting this service must take priority.
It goes without saying, if you or anyone in your household is unwell, please cancel and stay away! We will not be charging cancellation fees for any of our services at this time.
As of Monday 18th May, we will be open for clients to try horses once more.
Before booking a viewing, we will ensure clients have seen adequate video footage of the horse(s) they are coming to view and have spent a significant amount of time discussing their requirements with a myself or Sue. This is to ensure any clients entering our ‘safe zone’ know as much as possible about the horse(s) they are planning to view.
Once here, we will be asking all clients to disinfect their hands on arrival, to touch as little as possible whilst here and to adhere to strict social distancing measures. We will present the horse(s) to clients by the arena and disinfect the tack once they have ridden.
Private lessons with the Dassett trainers can resume from Wednesday 13th May, as long as the following is strictly adhered to;
Our arenas will remain closed for hire.
We anticipate opening them on Monday 1st June, but the viability of this date will be assessed in the proceeding week. Updates will be found here and on our social media platforms.
Competition / Schooling Livery
We are currently not taking new horses for any type of livery.
From Wednesday 13th May, existing owners may watch their horses work by prearrangement, but may not touch of handle their horse.
From Monday 25th May, owners may ride their own horse whilst adhering to the following policy;
There will be no toilet / bathroom facilities open, so please go before arriving here!
Riding Off Site
As advised, from Wednesday 13th May we will be riding ‘off campus’ once more. We will be mainly using our quiet lane for hill work.
Obviously all of the above will be carefully monitored on a daily basis and could change at any stage. These changes may be triggered by new government / equestrian advice or policy, or theses changes may be made at our own discretion. We are not obliged to offer any notice period on any of our policy changes.
Updates will can be found on this News page, on the Services page and across our social media platforms.
I am sorry to sound so strict about this, and even more sorry to be restricting our services and facilities to those who would like to use them. However, I’m sure we all agree the safety and well being of the DE team, my family and the wider population must be my overriding priority.
Let’s hope we can continue to overcome this horrible virus as a nation. Lots of best wishes and love to you all xxx
