It was a short trip down the road to Moreton Morrell for our trio of 6yo to have a run ahead of the National 6YO Championships in a few weeks time.
Dassett Curra Candy (Candy) and Craig were first up bright and early – and they set the standard of the day with a very impressive dressage score of 27! They followed this up with a classy double clear, adding only 2 time penalties to finish in 5th place. This mare is so comfortable at this level, it will very much suit her to step up to 2* level next time out.
Amelia was piloting the mighty Dassett Rock Star (Rocky) in the Novice and they scored their usual stunning dressage score, with yet another mark of 27. One rail fell following a bit of a miscommunication in strides, but otherwise the pair jumped a lovely round. And they cruised around the XC effortlessly. A few time penalties added meant their day ended in 10th place, but they also looked so established and confident at this level.
The final contender of the day was another ride for Amelia on board Dassett Select (JJ). Not to be outdone, they also scored 27 in the dressage – a good score to be consistent on!! Sadly 2 rails fell in the jumping so Amelia just gave JJ a quiet run XC and he came home having jumped a lovely clear round to end the day about mid division.
Onto Thoresby International….!
