Dassett Rock Star and Amelia Walker – WINNER at Cirencester Park CCI-2*S!!
This weekend saw a huge win for Amelia and Rocky (Dassett Rock Star), who led the 2*S from start to finish at the inaugural Cirencester Park Horse Trials. They smashed their dressage for a fantastic mark of 26.4, and jumped an easy clear showjumping before storming round the cross country inside the time, taking the top spot in a highly competitive section of over 70 horses.
Cirencester was team DE’s first international of the year, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start to 2021’s FEI calendar. We’ve known what a special horse he is for a long time, and were thrilled he’s showed that with this result. What’s so exciting is that he has so much more to give – his brilliant dressage mark was despite a couple of green wobbles, and this was only his second time cross country this year following a competitive novice run at Oasby. This result adds an international title to his long list of wins and placings at the national level, and this incredibly talented horse will surely produce many more exceptional results in the future.
It takes a lot of people to produce the horses to this level, so this was a fantastic result for the whole team. We will definitely be opening the bubbles and celebrating as fully as we can – given the current covid regulations!
In his next run, Rocky will contest his first Intermediate at Aston. Given his habit of finishing on his dressage score, we can’t wait to see him step up a level and show us what more he is capable of.
