Aston Le walls (X) saw the debut event for several of our exciting crop of young horses. Amelia and Craig had some fantastic runs throughout the day, kick-starting these horses’ careers at our local event.
Hawthornstud Dassett (Lexi) gave Amelia a fantastic ride to come 8th in the OBE90. She was a total professional throughout the day, jumping a classy double clear to add nothing to her solid dressage score. At five years old she shows so much potential, and we are looking forward to seeing her out competing again.
Dassett Banker (Robin) came to DE as a showjumper, and has impressed us all with his amazing jump in training. Recently however, the demands of the event season haven’t afforded us the time to regularly compete at pure jumping shows, and we decided it would be great experience for him to come eventing. He certainly seemed to enjoy adding another string to his bow, and gained lots of experience in the OBE90 with Craig, putting in a lovely test and jumping great rounds, despite a few green moments XC! He will be out again very soon, and with his scope and movement will make a competitive event horse for sure.
Amelia also competed Keynote Dassett (Wilson), who was a total pro at his first event to jump double clear- just adding 1.6 cross country time to his competitive dressage score for 6th place in his OBE90 section. He’s fast becoming a yard favourite thanks to his good looks and charming personality, and we can’t wait to show off his talent out competing again soon!
Last but not least, future star Kinetic Dassett (Brownie) gave Amelia a great ride round his first OBE90, smashing out a 26 dressage and jumping fantastic rounds. He finished just outside the placings after a steady cross country round to take in the atmosphere, but definitely thinks he deserves a rosette after his impeccable behaviour!
The horses all put in a great performance, and we are excited to see what more these talented youngsters will achieve this season.
